Are your values meaningful or meaningless?
Dear CSS Colleagues:
Most of us work in large organizations that proport to have a Mission and Values. Do you know what these are? Do they affect your everyday approach to work? In the enclosed article by Patrick Lencioni, “Make Your Values Mean Something” he points out that “most value statements are bland, toothless and just plain dishonest.” Take the ill-fated company, Enron, for example.
So why bother reading this short article? It will help you understand whether the place you work has a moral compass and a True North, or if your leadership is unfocused. This may explain why you feel loyal in your job or wonder what is coming next.
