If you Google the above term, here is what you get:

As I’m an orthopedic surgeon I wanted to know what Google thought about “innovation in orthopedics” so here is what I got:

Then I thought, what do some of the greatest medical institutions in the world say about innovation when you Google them? So here is what I get for the few I looked at:

So, there is an incredible commitment and energy to change the quality of what we do as physicians and surgeons for the better, and much of this has to do with innovation and application of complex technologies like AI which are already being applied in areas outside of healthcare.
Enclosed in this post is a document I created that considers some of what Google says is Innovation and some of what it says is entrepreneurship. One thing is for certain, nothing that is an innovation changes anything unless it scales; and the formula for this, at some point in the process, is certainly entrepreneurship. The enclosed document also has a list of links to videos, books and articles that, as a surgeon, I have found helpful in understanding the process and the barriers to both “Innovation” and “Entrepreneurship.”
I hope you find this of interest, and feel free to comment on our post on Codman Shoulder Society LinkedIn or our WhatsApp Group.
